South Waveney Primary Care Network is seeking to appoint an additional Clinical Pharmacist to join an established team of Practice and Network Pharmacists based at Beccles and working across the 5 Constituent Practices. The post holder will be employed by Beccles Medical Centre, where a GP Mentor and an established Clinical Pharmacist Team for peer support are based. They will work equitably across all Network Practices – Beccles, Bungay, Sole Bay (Southwold), Longshore surgeries (Kessingland) and Cutler’s Hill surgery (Halesworth). All practices will be using SystmOne as the clinical platform, which could minimise travel requirements.

The post holder will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary Primary Care Home team in a patient-facing role, managing caseloads across the Network, as well as providing clinical leadership on medicines optimisation and quality improvement. The role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires motivation and passion to deliver excellent service within general practice.

If not already, the post holder will be supported to develop their role to become a non-medical prescriber.

Part time working/job share will be considered and a GP Mentor will be provided.

For further information, an informal discussion or to arrange practice visits, please contact Dr Julia McLean

*The post is suitable for a Band 7 Pharmacist who has not been in Primary Care before and/or a Band 8a Prescribing Pharmacist – this post would involve some supervisory responsibility for other Band 7 Practice-based Pharmacists in the area. Please indicate which level you are applying for.
