We have a unique opportunity for a qualified GP to join our small and friendly, yet highly efficient Executive team. Our role is to support the Committee in its functions as the statutory representative body for around 850 GPs working within over 100 practices across Norfolk and Waveney. The Committee aims to support the stability and sustainability of local general practice, and the professions values, by engaging with General Practitioners and developing and maintaining strong working relationships across the wider health and social care system.

This interesting position becomes available at the outset of the new five year General Practice contract. The contract marks the most significant changes in 15 years and is essential to deliver the ambitions for improving services for patients, set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, through strong general practice. The contract ensures GPs play a leading role in shaping the local health economy, which will include bigger teams of health professionals working together in local communities.

The LMC has an important role in working with practices to support the delivery of their contract and with CCGs to ensure practices lead and direct these networks. The LMC will also support PCNs' engagement with the Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP).

Based in Wymondham with the requirement to undertake regular travel across Norfolk and Waveney and occasionally further afield, appropriate mileage and travel expenses are reimbursed. The post holder's hours will usually be worked during office hours Monday to Thursday, however this will vary to accommodate attendance at key meetings and events.

The Job Description and person specification, along with an information pack, can be downloaded. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate they meet the essential criteria and whilst a number of desirable criteria are preferable the successful candidate will be actively supported in their personal development.

A wealth of useful information about the LMC is available on our website and for an informal discussion please contact Mel Benfell or Naomi Woodhouse by email or telephone 01953 608060. To apply please send C.V. and a covering letter to Mel Benfell.
