It is important that you have an annual leave policy, and we would suggest that your annual leave policy includes:
- The number of days/hours and whether this includes Bank Holidays
- Maximum number of days which may be taken consecutively, for example 2 weeks, 10 working days
- Details of the number of staff that can be of at any one time from individual departments/staff types
- Any restrictions for example Christmas, Easter, school holidays
- The length of notice required to request annual leave
- Consider what may be accepted as an exceptional circumstance
