NHS medical services are organised and funded by six Primary Care Trusts, and much of the day to day running of services is managed on behalf of them by Eastern Support Services. Specialist, Mental Health and Acute Hospital services are provided by a number of other Trusts, and emergency services by East Anglia Ambulance Trust. The NHS “family” in Norfolk is completed by NHS Direct Anglia. Norfolk is one of three counties which are overseen by the Strategic Health Authority.
